On July 28, 2025, Shanghai Dingbo Heavy Industry Machinery Co., Ltd. loaded and shipped the first batch of shaking table equipment from its production base in Nantong, Jiangsu, marking the first large-scale entry of China's high-end mineral processing equipment into the South American market. This cooperation covers a full range of shaking tables including coarse sand, fine sand, and groove type, which will serve the gold mining project in northern Colombia. It is expected to improve the local ore sorting efficiency by more than 40%.
The shaker uses the density difference of mineral particles as the basis for sorting. After the ore particle group is fed into the inclined bed, high-density minerals (such as gold and tungsten) tend to move longitudinally along the bed towards the concentrate end due to the combined effects of gravity, lateral water flow, and bed vibration; Low density minerals such as quartz and feldspar are washed away by water flow and migrate laterally towards the tailings side. This process is strengthened by the asymmetric reciprocating motion of the bed surface: the bed surface advances quickly and returns slowly, pushing mineral particles to accumulate towards the concentrate end, while forming a loose layer, promoting particle stratification according to density.
